Born a little south of the northern part of Hokkaido, I have only practiced kendo for 14 years and found myself on a ship at the age of 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story began with a phone call at the end of April 2024, half a year after I joined the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then and there, at the Port of Shimizu in Shizuoka, I boarded a large ship with a lot of sticks growing out of it. What is that thing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was surprised when I got on the bus and everyone I passed was Indonesian. I've never spoken English before,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 3\/O, I learned a lot of things such as paperwork, lifesaving equipment, medical supplies, etc., which I was in charge of, and I got angry with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made one big discovery!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indonesian crew on this ship can speak Japanese very well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And please remember this, they are kind and cheerful! They are so nice that if it were not for them, I would not be on the ship right now, running away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Shimizu, I learned my job from 3\/Os, got angry at them, was treated to delicious food both on and off the ship, witnessed cargo unloading, participated in transshipment to other vessels, was taken to a cabaret club by a senior crew member, melted my salary in the cabaret club, and, ETC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even after leaving Shimizu, 3\/O taught me many things, made me angry, taught other crew members, gave me cigarettes, got covered in paint from the waves, got angry when I malfunctioned the fire alarm, etc. Time passed so fast, so much fun, and so busy that I cannot write about it here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now I am in Australia, working every day from 5:00 a.m. loading tuna in the hold and removing the tuna guts when it is done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
