There are three main responsibility of the captain
First the vessel, A captain has to make sure that the vessel in safe condition all the time (navigation, weather condition, maintenance of the vessel )
Second the crews /passenger, A captain has to make sure safety of the crews (fatigue and mental condition of the crew so that they always enjoy their life on board)
Third A captain has to make sure safety of the cargo (cargo handling )
・During the voyage
A captain always controlling crews performance any time
have a chat and some joke with the crews so a captain knew exactly what the crews needed
correspondence with company or agent
make sure all safety equipment are in good order
free time I used to take sport exercise and watching movie
・While in port
Controlling all around ships and make sure that all around in good condition
Make sure all cargo handling gear are in good order before cargo operation
Call crews to have dinner together at the restaurant
Having some sport exercise like jogging at port
・Period of processing
As a captain I have full responsibility of quality of the fish so a captain always controlling all the fish process.
Important thing is how to make sure that buyer satisfactions with the vessel condition and crew performance
Always avoid of crew fatigue
Have a chat with the crew just to know how the crews mental condition
・On vacation
I spent my time with my family and friends
Have some sport exercise like jogging to make sure always in good health
As mentioned above, I always remind all the crews that we have to make a good team work so we can enjoy our job and ask the crews that we have to give all our best to the company, we have to take a good care of the vessel so we can stayed longer with the good job and good life for our beloved family.
